Leah was the wife of the Old Testament patriarch Jacob, the eldest daughter of Laban
For her humble life, the Lord blessed her with special childbearing: she bore Jacob six sons and a daughter, Dinah. Leah accompanied Jacob on his flight from Padan-Aram (Mesopotamia) and was present with her children ahead of the others when he met Esau (Gen. 33:2).
It is unknown at what time Leah died, but in his farewell speech on his deathbed, Jacob mentions that she was buried in a cave, in the field of Machpelah, near the oak grove of Mamre (Gen. 49:87).
