The image is based on the image of the prophecy of Ezekiel (Ezekiel 44: 2) and the text of the troparion read on Pentecost: “In the church worth your glory, we seem to stand in heaven. Mother of God, door of heaven, open to us the doors of your mercy."
The architectural background of the icon contributes to the revelation of the symbolic intent of the composition. The image of the Mother of God of the “Gate of the Word”, the “True Door of Salvation” is deliberately correlated with the architectural structure depicted behind her in the form of a portico - the entrance to the Heavenly City.
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
