The Reverend Queen Angelina Brankovic or Angelina of Serbia. Wooden orthodox icon.
Saint Angelina - the daughter of Prince George of Albania and the husband of Stefan, King of Serbia, Saint Angelina endured exile together with her husband and shared all the hardships of life in Albania and Italy. She raised her two sons, Saints Maximus and John, in a truly Christian spirit. After the death of her husband, Saint Angelina took monastic vows and devoted herself to prayer, charity and church building.
A faithful wife, a good mother and a perfect Christian, she truly deserved the name of "Mother Angelina", which the people awarded her. Her miraculous relics are preserved together with the relics of her righteous husband, Saint Stefan, and their pious children Maximus and John in the Krushedol Monastery. Saint Angelina found peace and eternal life at the beginning of the sixteenth century.
