🕯️ This richly symbolic Orthodox icon unites some of the most beloved saints of the Christian tradition before the sacred image of Christ “Not Made by Hands” (Mandylion, Ubrus)—a powerful sign of the true Incarnation of the Savior and His divine presence with humanity.

Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, the Great Martyr and victorious warrior, is venerated as a defender of the Christian faith and a protector of soldiers and cities. His courage and steadfast confession of Christ inspire believers to remain faithful even in times of trial.

Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, is revered throughout the world for his mercy, compassion, and countless miracles. He is a swift intercessor in hardships, a protector of travelers, children, families, and all who seek help with sincere prayer.

Saint Macarius of Kalyazin, a venerable Russian ascetic and wonderworker, represents humility, repentance, and deep monastic devotion. His life of prayer and self-denial teaches believers the path of inner transformation and closeness to God.

The Guardian Angel, standing alongside the saints, reminds every Christian of God’s constant protection and guidance, calling the soul toward righteousness and spiritual vigilance.

At the center and summit of the composition is the holy image of Christ “Mandylion (Ubrus)”, emphasizing that all sanctity, strength, and intercession flow from Christ Himself. This icon is a profound reminder of divine protection, heavenly intercession, and the unity of the Church—militant and triumphant—before the face of the Savior.

The original icon was painted in the 19th century by the icon painter Dikarev. It is in a private collection.

The icon is made on an MDF wooden base, printed with mineral pigment inks, and protected with natural beeswax.

The image is created using direct artistic multi-layer printing with mineral pigments, then protected with beeswax for durability.

The icon board is prepared by hand, and the back side is finished manually with a brush.

This method allows us to achieve museum-quality reproduction, which is only possible using professional equipment.
