Saint Oleg Romanovich of Bryansk, Venerable Prince (in monasticism Vasily). Wooden orthodox icon.

The Holy Blessed Prince Oleg Romanovich Bryansky (in Baptism Leonty) was the grandson of the Holy Martyr Prince Mikhail of Chernigov. According to chronicle sources, the Holy Blessed Prince Oleg participated in the war against Lithuania in 1274 together with his father, Prince Roman Mikhailovich Bryansky. After 1274, he left the princedom and took monastic vows with the name Vasily in the Bryansk Peter and Paul Monastery, built with his funds. In this monastery, the Holy Blessed Prince died as a strict ascetic around 1285 and was buried in the monastery church.
