Saint Aquilina lived during the Great Persecution (303-305). She was the daughter of Eutolmius, a nobleman from Byblos of Phoenicia. When she was five years old, she was baptized by Bishop Euphalius. From the age of ten, Aquilina so zealously explained to her peers how to renounce idolatry and turn to Christ that she was handed over by a certain Nicodemus to the proconsul Volusian. The latter was instructed by Emperor Diocletian to carry out the first decrees on the persecution of Christians in this region of the Roman Empire.

The saint fearlessly confessed the name of the Savior before the governor, who, without mercy for her youth, ordered her to be beaten with whips and her ears pierced with red-hot rods. An angel came to the aid of the girl when she was considered dead and left outside the city. Unnoticed by the guards, Aquilina reached Volusianus's bedroom. The governor, awakened by the sudden appearance of the Christian, called for help in fear. Accusing the saint of witchcraft, he ordered her beheaded the following day.

Aquilina's holy relics were later transferred to Constantinople. They were placed next to the Forum in a temple built in her honor, where she was greatly revered.

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
