In an age of political unrest, Nevsky's military prowess and diplomatic finesse prevented foreign subjugation; his submission to the Tatar khan allowed for the preservation of Novgorod and other Russian lands. Thus, Nevsky's selfless protection of his people has solidified his legacy as a holy warrior and defender of his nation.
