Wooden Icon of the Mother of God Softening Evil Hearts (Seven Swords, Seven Arrows)

The name of this icon, "Softener of Evil Hearts," carries a profound sense of hope. It represents the belief that justice will eventually prevail on earth, and that people will become compassionate, loving, and charitable towards one another. In our world, which is often filled with bitterness, it can be challenging to embrace this ideal. However, even the mere sight of someone else's suffering has the power to soften our own hardened hearts.

Softening of Evil Hearts, or Simeon's Prophecy - an icon of the Mother of God, on which the prophecy of Saint Simeon the God-Receiver, pronounced by him in the Jerusalem Temple on the day of the Meeting of the Lord, is depicted with symbolic signs:

"And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His Mother: Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that will be spoken against; and a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed." - Luke 2:34-35

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
