During his lifetime, Saint Nicholas was a benefactor of the human race. He did not cease to be one even after his death, being a quick intercessor of all those in trouble, saving from drowning and carrying from the depths of the sea to land, delighting from captivity and carrying into the house, delivering from the death penalty by the sword and other types of death, giving healing: for the blind - seeing, for the lame - walking, for the deaf - hearing, for the dumb - speaking. He enriched many when they were in extreme squalor and poverty, served food to the hungry, and was a ready helper, a zealous intercessor and a quick intercessor and defender to anyone in trouble. And now he also helps everyone who resorts to him with faith, and delivers them from the troubles that befall them.

Therefore, the Church, glorifying in its hymns the saint of God Nicholas, the miracle worker of Myra, calls on everyone to worship him: “let kings and princes flock to him, let shepherds and teachers praise him as a good shepherd who is a doctor in illness, in troubles - a deliverer, an intercessor for sinners, a nourisher for the poor, a comforter in sorrows, a companion for those traveling, a helmsman for those sailing on the sea, let everyone praise the great Saint Nicholas.”
