Wooden Icon of Emmanuel (The Saviour Jesus Christ)

Savior Emmanuel (translated as “God is with us”) is an iconographic type representing Christ in adolescence.
According to the traditions of icon painting, Jesus Christ is usually depicted at the age of preaching - about 30 years old. Exceptions to this tradition are two types of icons.

First type. Various variations on the Christmas story. On icons of this type, Jesus Christ is depicted as a baby in a manger.
Second type. Icons depicting Jesus Christ in childhood or adolescence. Such icons belong to the iconography of the Savior Emmanuel.

The iconographic image of the Savior Emmaniul is associated with the prophecy of Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14):
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: behold, a virgin will be with child and give birth to a Son, and they will call His name Emmanuel.”

The icon depicts the Mother of God praying above with the Seraphim angels. On the sides are the holy apostles Peter and Paul

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
