Wooden Icon “Four Great Nativities” – an Orthodox relic depicting the Nativities of the Virgin Mary, Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, and St. Nicholas

The icon “Four Great Nativities” is a unique depiction of four significant events in Orthodox tradition:
• Nativity of the Virgin Mary – marks the beginning of humanity’s salvation, as she was chosen to bear the Son of God.
• Nativity of Jesus Christ – the birth of the Savior, bringing redemption and the promise of eternal life to the world.
• Nativity of John the Baptist – the forerunner of Christ, preparing people for His coming and baptizing Him in the Jordan River.
• Nativity of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker – celebrating the birth of one of the most venerated saints, known for his miracles and charitable deeds.

The original icon dates back to the early 19th century and is preserved in the State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg.

The icon is in the late Baroque style with elements of Classicism, characterized by dynamic composition, rich colors, and realistic depictions of figures. This style was influenced by Western European religious art while maintaining the spiritual depth and symbolism of Orthodox iconography.

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board (mdf). Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 1,6 cm. The board is covered with primer. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.

The icon is made on an MDF wooden base, printed with mineral pigment inks, and protected with natural beeswax.

A hanging mount is included.

The image is created using direct artistic multi-layer printing with mineral pigments, then protected with beeswax for durability.

The icon board is prepared by hand, and the back side is finished manually with a brush.

This method allows us to achieve museum-quality reproduction, which is only possible using professional equipment.
