This icon depicts the gospel scene of the Savior blessing the children: “They brought children to Him so that He would touch them, but the disciples did not allow those who brought them. Seeing this, Jesus was indignant and said to them: Let the children come to Me and do not hinder them, for of such is the Kingdom of God. I tell you truly, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it. And, embracing them, he laid his hands on them and blessed them (Mark 10:13-16).
