Wooden orthodox Icon of the Theotokos "Rejoices in You"
The name of the icon is given from the first words of the hymn dedicated to the Mother of God: “In You rejoices, O Blessed One...” The Most Holy Mother of God is depicted in the Garden of Eden against the backdrop of a multi-domed temple - a symbol of Heavenly Jerusalem. At the foot of the throne on which the Mother of God sits with the Eternal Child, the author of the hymn is depicted - the Monk John of Damascus, a hymn writer, in whose hands is a scroll with the text of the hymn. Below is a host of Orthodox saints praising the Mother of God.
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
