Wooden Icon of the Resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ with the twelve Great Feasts

In the fields are saints: St. Feodor and Great Martyr Catherine.

The Twelfth Great Feasts are twelve Christian Great Feasts, each of which corresponds to an icon of the same name.

The calendar begins with the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The icon of the “Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord” also has other names: “Exaltation of the Cross” or “Confirmation of the Cross.”

Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary into the Temple

Nativity. The icon describes the moment of the birth of Jesus in a cave from the Virgin Mary.

Icon of the Baptism of the Lord. The icon shows the baptism of Jesus in the waters of the Jordan River.

The Presentation of the Lord depicts the moment when the Mother of God brought the baby Jesus into the temple.

An icon is dedicated to the feast of the Annunciation, depicting the moment of the meeting of the Most Pure Virgin Mary with the Archangel Gabriel, who told Mary that she would soon give birth to the Son of the Most High Jesus.

The eighth icon is the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem.

The Ascension of the Lord, describing the end of Christ's earthly life and his joining with God the Father. The holiday is a moving holiday, celebrated on the 40th day counting from Easter.

The Trinity Day icon describes a plot from the Old Testament, when the triune God descended to the apostles, giving them many abilities and skills. This day, the 50th from Easter or the eighth Sunday after Easter, is considered the sunset of the Christian church.

Transfiguration of Christ.

The last holiday in the church calendar is the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. The icon of the same name depicts the funeral ceremony of farewell to the Mother of God. Above the dead mother, Jesus holds a baby in his arms, marking the beginning of the heavenly life of Our Lady.

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with soil by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.

Our icons are made by Orthodox craftsmen. You can read more about the technology here: https://iconsofsaints.com/pages/how-is-the-icon-made
