Wooden Icon of the Mother of God Spreader of Bread (Bread Spreader, Multiplier of Wheat)

The painting of the Icon of the Mother of God, known as the "Multiplier of Wheat," was carried out under the guidance and blessing of Elder Ambrose of the Visitation Optina wilderness monastery, whose feast day is celebrated on October 10. Elder Ambrose was a revered ascetic in nineteenth-century Russia, known for his profound devotion and childlike faith towards the Mother of God. He held a special reverence for all the Feastdays dedicated to the Mother of God, and on these occasions, he intensified his prayers.

The Icon of the "Multiplier of Wheat" was specifically painted by Elder Ambrose to bless the Shamordino women's monastery, which was established in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. This monastery was founded by Elder Ambrose himself, not far from the Optina monastery. 

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
