Wooden Icon of the Mother of God of Kazan (Kazanskaya) with Saints
The Icon of the Mother of God of Kazan (Kazanskaya) has been venerated since the 16th century when it miraculously appeared in the city of Kazan. It is a powerful symbol of prayer for families and healing for those suffering from eye diseases. The celebration of this Icon is observed every November 4.
Saint Nicholas is depicted on the upper right border of the icon.
Empress Helena, depicted on the medallion below, and an image of Emperor Constantine on the left border.
Directly below them are Archangel Michael, depicted on the left border as a Guardian Angel, and the nun Evdokia.
The lower border depicts two crowned female saints, princesses Catherine and Irene.
Saint John the Baptist on the upper left border.
Four holy Moscow metropolitans: Peter, Alexei, Jonah and Philip.
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
Our icons are made by Orthodox craftsmen. You can read more about the technology here: https://iconsofsaints.com/pages/how-is-the-icon-made
We hope it will be a good gift for you and your loved ones.
