Wooden Icon of the Mother of God "Fire-shaped" (Areovindus, “Fire-appearing”)
The icon appeared in 598. Regarding the place of the appearance of the Fire-shaped Icon of the Mother of God, no references have been preserved. The Mother of God in this icon is depicted alone, without the Baby Jesus. Her face turns to the right side. The clothes on the Blessed Virgin are red, and this was the reason for the name of her Fire-shaped icon. The Mother of God symbolizes the New Testament Church, as well as the blood of the Lamb the Redeemer Jesus Christ, shed for humanity.
Many Orthodox prayers and hymns often give the Most Holy Theotokos the title of “Candlestick with Divine Fire” or “Throne of Cherubic Fire.”
The canon written in honor of the Virgin Saints is associated with the word “Fiery Chariot of the Word.”
Looking at the icon, you cannot help but turn your gaze to the gaze of the Mother of God: he looks directly at the viewer and contains such meekness and tenderness that he simply will not learn to remain indifferent to you.
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
You can buy the icon in three sizes:
- 13 х 11 centimeters (5,1 x 4,3 inches)
- 19 х 16 centimeters (7,5 x 6,3 inches)
- 26 х 22 centimeters (10,2 x 8,7 inches)

We hope it will be a good gift for you and your loved ones.
