Holy Martyr Leonidas of Corinth. Wooden orthodox icon.
The Holy Martyr Leonidas lived in the third century, in the Greek city of Corinth. He was a disciple of Saint Quadratus and suffered for Christ during the persecutions declared by the Emperor Decius. The hermit Quadratus lived in the desert and mountains near Corinth. Local residents often came to him for advice and spiritual guidance. The righteous man was famous for healing physical and spiritual ailments. He was helped by his knowledge of medicine, as well as a special gift of prayer.
