Saint Arsenius of Elasson or Arsenius, Archbishop of Suzdal. Wooden orthodox icon.

This ascetic of faith was a saint both Greek, occupying the cathedra in his native Elassona, and Russian, from 1585. A participant in church events and their chronicler, he left a remarkable work about Russia in those difficult times of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He witnessed the installation of Metropolitan Job as patriarch, which began the history of the Russian patriarchate, together with Patriarch Hermogenes he defended the identity of Russia, which had been invaded by the Poles and Lithuanians, and together with Patriarch Filaret he affirmed the new political system of Rus', which elected Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich to the throne.

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall. The icon has no recess, the surface is smooth.
