Wooden Icon of the Mother of God of Tolga (The Theotokos of Tolga)
The icon was revealed in 1314 to Bishop Tryphon of Rostov, when he was touring the possessions of the Diocese, 8 versts from Yaroslavl. In the forest near the Tolga River. To this day, the Tolga Monastery stands on this site, where the icon is located.
At the bottom is written the troparion to the Tolga Icon (in old russian):

Today your image shines brightly on Tolga, / O Most Pure Virgin Mother of God, / and, like the unsetting sun, / is always given to the faithful, / which the Angels saw in the air, / invisibly held by the Angels, as by no one, / the most holy Bishop of the city of Rostov Tryphon / ran to the revealed shining pillar of fire, / and walked on the waters as on dry land, / and I prayed to You faithfully for the flock and for the people. / And we, running to You, cry out: / Most Holy Virgin Theotokos, / faithfully save those who glorify You, / deliver our country, bishops / and all the Russian peoples from all troubles // according to Your great mercy.
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
