Wooden Icon of the Holy Archangel Gabriel by Andrei Rublev

Archangel Gabriel is the Evangelist of God. He appeared to the priest Zacharias, predicting the birth of the Forerunner of the Lord – John the Baptist. He appeared to the Most Holy Theotokos ("Theotokos, Virgin, Rejoice!"...), inspired the prophet Moses in the Old Testament when writing the Book of Genesis, and announced to the Prophet Daniel about the future destinies of the Jewish people... The myrrh-bearing wives heard from the Archangel Gabriel, whose name means "The Fortress of God", the joyful news of the Resurrection of Christ.

The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall. The icon has no indentation, the surface is flat.
