Alexander Nevsky is a great Russian ruler, an example of a wise Christian life.

Prince Alexander Yaroslavich (1220-1263) was also the Prince of Novgorod, Kyiv, and later the Grand Prince of Vladimir. He was a talented commander - during the Battle of the Neva (1240) he was 20 years old, and during the Battle on the Ice - 22 years old. Subsequently, he became more famous as a politician and diplomat, but throughout his life, Prince Alexander never lost a single battle. He managed to create an Orthodox diocese in the Golden Horde.

Alexander Nevsky was canonized as a pious prince. This rank of saints includes people who became famous for their sincere, deep faith and good deeds, as well as Orthodox rulers who managed to remain faithful to Christ in their public service and in various political upheavals.
