Grace and love, said Father Nikolai, are not weakness and agreement with evil: “This is the spiritual ABC,” he said. “We are dedicated to God in the holy font of Baptism, and we must live purely, according to the Gospel.” It was this Gospel purity of Christ that the Russian people noticed in the holy prayer book - and they opened their hearts to him, trusted the leadership of the Elder and his Word. In Father, the majestic, God-loving, compassionate Russian soul shone dazzlingly with all of God’s creation. He said that God has no orphans, we are all God's. That is why he accepted the very last sinners in grief and joy, and grieved with them over their falls as if they were his own. The elder literally wiped away people's tears. No one was embarrassed to cry for their dying soul, falling to his hand. And until the heart cried out and repented, Father waited and did not take his father’s hand away... He waited and prayed, taught everyone to pray to the Lord - repentantly and humbly: “If you cry and pray for your sins, God will forgive you, and maybe even more.” who will you help with your prayer."
And now, the time has come when, for the prayers of grateful hearts, the Lord admonished the icon painter Stefan Potyagalov from the village of Mosta, Ivanovo region, to paint the image of the priest “Nicholas the Gracious Comforter”
The icon is made by printing on a wooden board. Paints are mineral, do not fade with time. The thickness of the board is 2 cm. The board is covered with primer by hand. The image is covered with wax. Each icon has a metal mount on the back side so that you can hang the icon on the wall.
You can buy the icon in three sizes:
- 13 х 9 centimeters (5,1 x 3,5 inches)
- 19 х 14 centimeters (7,5 x 5,5 inches)
- 26 х 19 centimeters (10,2 x 7,5 inches)
Our icons are made by Orthodox craftsmen. You can read more about the technology here.
We hope it will be a good gift for you and your loved ones.
