Saint Vitaly the monk lived during the time of John the Merciful (7th century). He took on a difficult task - he prayed for harlots, helped them and prayed for them. The monk's prayers saved many women. Many people condemned him, but having seen many miracles, they were ashamed and asked the saint for forgiveness.
