🪵 The Foundation – Wooden Panel 

Every icon begins with a solid base: a durable MDF wood panel. The panels are chosen for their strength and stability, ensuring that the icon will last for many years without warping. Each board is cut to precise dimensions and prepared by hand.

🎨 Printing with Mineral Pigment Inks

The sacred image is reproduced using high-quality mineral pigment inks. Unlike ordinary printing, these pigments provide vibrant, rich colors that resist fading, allowing the icon to maintain its beauty for decades.

🕯️ Protective Beeswax Finish

To preserve the image, each icon is carefully sealed with a natural beeswax finish. This step not only protects the surface but also gives the icon a warm, traditional texture, echoing the look and feel of antique Orthodox icons.

🔨 Handmade Details

All our icons are handmade by Orthodox Christian artisans in Portugal. From the preparation of the panel to the finishing touches, every stage is done with care and prayerful attention. The edges are smoothed, the surface polished, and a metal hook is mounted on the back — making the icon ready to hang in your home, prayer corner, or chapel.
